Last year I published Halloween-inspired superhero cocktails in two parts: Part 1: Ghost Rider, Jack O’Lantern and Part 2: Hellboy, The Punisher.
This Halloween we’ll just have to manage with one post. I’ve updated Halloween cocktail compilation: in addition to today’s recipes I’ve included good ol’ pumpkin lantern tossing Green Goblin and horror classic Swamp Thing.
Please feel free to check it out in Recipes and downloads.
BLADE
What would (half)vampire like to drink? A shot of blood, naturally.
2 to 3 parts ginger rum
1 part Creme de Cassis
Shake with ice and strain into a shot glass.
For manufacturing ginger rum, please see Wonder Woman (Golden Lasso).
JOHN CONSTANTINE
4 parts gin
2 parts Passõa
1 part Campari
4 parts blood grapefruit juice, hand-squeezed
Shake with ice and strain into old fashioned glass with some ice in it. Garnish with grapefruit wedge, serve with a pack of Silk Cuts ;P
Naturally J. Constantine’s cocktail had to based in gin… and what else? With my other sorcerer drinks, Dr. Fate, Dr. Strange and Zatanna Zatara, I created “whirlwinds of taste” while trying to describe their arcane powers…
With Constantine I decided to forget about his powers and instead go for his dry wit and cynical attitude. Gin, Campari, grapefruit… can you get more “dry”? Passõa is a little relief, it gives a nice touch.
That’s it, see you next time… and have a Happy Halloween!
