Misery loves company (Cloak and Dagger)

I’m not sure if I’m introducing one or two cocktail recipes this time… but I’m sure they make one helluva pair!

cloakdagger1

CLOAK & DAGGER

Cloak

3 parts Skittles tequila

1 part sweet red vermouth

6 to 8 parts Coca-Cola

OR…

3 parts Skittles tequila

2 parts sweet red vermouth

6 to 8 parts Coca-Cola

1 part coffee

Stir with ice and strain into old fashioned glass with some ice in it.

How to make Skittles tequila, please see Clayface. If you fancy a version with a coffee, please check out Black Mamba to see what kind of brew I mean.

Dagger

2 or more parts ginger rum

2 parts cream

1 part simple syrup

Shake with ice and strain into a shot glass.

For manufacturing ginger rum, please see Wonder Woman (Golden Lasso).

So how I’m supposed to drink these? Start with Cloak, sipping… after a while you get kinda bored to the taste, I know you will… Shoot Dagger, and suddenly you feel lucky to have some Cloak left.

I admit… no, actually I brag: neither one of these aren’t good drinks on their own! Cloak is somehow too “overwhelming”, halfway through the glass and you think you’re done (there’s a reason why Cloak doesn’t use big highball glass)…

…then enter Dagger! On it’s own, it’s pretty bland, only twist being that slight ginger “burn”… but it instantly washes away Cloak’s heavy taste.

Now your mouth has cream coating and it isn’t pleasant, in addition you want to put out fiery ginger… and suddenly Cloak is you best friend again.

Two drinks that complete one another. If there’s a better way to describe Cloak & Dagger, I don’t know what it is. Just make sure you don’t use too big glass for Cloak… or you’ll need two Daggers 😀

Thank You, Test Subject B., for enduring quite too many tasting/testing sessions! Some of the silts I forced you to try were pretty horrific… but we made it, this pair works!

Next time… HALLOWEEN! 😀
